Have you got your act together for the Fair Work Act? DCA invites you to a special briefing

The Fair Work Act takes effect on 1 July 2009 and will introduce new anti-discrimination protections for employees and prospective employees. Whilst similar to existing protections in state and federal anti-discrimination law, some of these new provisions will be included in federal workplace law for the first time.

Are businesses and workplaces ready for change? Do HR and employee relations colleagues - and most importantly managers and supervisors - really know how to implement new diversity or EEO provisions, policies and practices?

Employers need to understand how these new provisions will impact on their rights and obligations under existing anti-discrimination law.

In partnership with Telstra, DCA is pleased to invite you to a Diversity Leadership Briefing, via teleconference, on the Fair Work Act. Our expert speakers will cover the following:

  • James Pomeroy, Lawyer from Gilbert + Tobin will explore what the EEO provisions in the Fair Work Act really mean
  • Nareen Young, DCA's CEO will explain what to do on the ground in your workplace and how DCA can assist.

Don't miss this opportunity to get up to date on an important issue for all employers!

When: Thursday 25 June 2009, 2.30 to 3.30pm

Where: Via teleconference

Cost: Free of charge for DCA members, $75 incl GST for non-members

To register: Click here for a registration form and send it to sydney@dca.org.au or fax it to (02) 8988 3270.
