Research has found many lesbian, gay, bi-sexual and transgender (LGBT) people still do not feel comfortable disclosing their sexual orientation at work, and this has a negative effect on them and their organisations. However, we know there’s much to be gained in terms of reputation, recruitment, retention, productivity and market share from ensuring your workplace is welcoming and inclusive of LGBT employees.
Progressive organisations recognise they need to create a workforce culture that embraces diversity and equality in all its forms. Join us at this Diversity Leadership Program event where we discuss leading practice on LGBT-inclusion. Presentations include:
- Dawn Hough, Program Director with Pride in Diversity (PiD), established by DCA in partnership with ACON and Stonewall UK. She will outline their unique program for employers on LGBT-inclusion and the substantial benefits membership of PiD can offer DCA members;
- Russell Lath, Senior Executive and Stefanie Perkovic, Talent Strategist, Accenture Australia who will speak on their award-winning work to support LGBT-employees;
- Ben Mulcahy, Pink Media. He will present on how his organisation is working to connect brands with the pink dollar; and
- Simon Corcoran, Project Delivery Leader, PwC Australia on his organisation being named Australia's most gay-friendly employer for 2012 by Pride in Diversity.
