Indigenous employment is a specialised area of diversity management. DCA recommends that organisations begin the process by familiarising themselves with Indigenous culture and issues.
As with any other diversity dimension, benchmarks relating to Indigenous employment need to be tailored and specific to each organisation, its environment and its markets or customers. Improvements in performance need to be demonstrated by progress against outcomes-based, high-level performance benchmarks.
